The reason for the flood in Thund Nala is not a stone crusher but a cloud burst: Suresh Thakur
The flood that occurred in the Thund Nala of Satlai Panchayat a few days ago was not due to a stone crusher but the damage was caused by heavy rain and cloudburst. This was stated by Suresh Thakur, owner of Ankit Stone Crusher, in a statement issued to the media on Saturday. He said that on Wednesday night at around 11 pm, a cloudburst occurred about 500 meters away from the stone crusher and heavy debris went into the Thund Nala, due to which the culvert built on the road in Thund got damaged. He said that no debris had come into the Thund Nala from the stone crusher. He said that the water from the culvert installed on the Neen Road is going into the Thund Nala and the debris is getting cut and going downwards.
Suresh Thakur said that he has set up a stone crusher about a decade ago with the approval of the state’s Industry Department and the Ministry of Environment, Government of India, for which all the formalities were completed. With the installation of this stone crusher, local youth, and heavy vehicle owners are getting employment. He says that an amount of one lakh 89 thousand was sanctioned by the Mining Department to build a culvert in Thund Nala, which was constructed during the year 2022-23. Apart from this, two crate wire poles have been installed by the owner of the stone crusher, on which an amount of Rs 4.17 lakh has been spent so that the debris coming out of the crusher can be stopped. Suresh Thakur has demanded from the government and the local panchayat that check dams etc. should be installed in Thund Nala so that the water coming at a high speed during the rainy season can be stopped.
