BJP Leader of Opposition Jai Ram Thakur while addressing a press conference in Shimla said that the present Sukhu government has lost the mandate, earlier it had lost the majority of MLAs in the Rajya Sabha elections and now it has also lost popularity among the public.

He said that the Congress party lost 61 seats in this Lok Sabha election by a huge margin, even the Chief Minister lost from Naidun by 2143 votes. All the ministers of CM Sukhu also lost the elections in their respective areas. This clearly shows the mandate, the people have given a strong reply to those who were boasting of majority in the entire state.

This Congress government is not concerned about the development of the state, the only concern is how to save the government and the Chief Minister is only concerned about saving his chair. In these Lok Sabha elections, they only celebrated saving the government in the entire state and did nothing else.

Jairam Thakur took Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu to task and said that what was the situation that the resignation of three independents was not accepted, if the resignation had been accepted at that time, the elections would have been held together. Sukhu was afraid of losing power, that is why he accepted the resignations a day before the Lok Sabha results and put the entire expense on the government. Now an additional expenditure of 35 crores will be incurred on these elections, for which Chief Minister ji, you are responsible.

He said that I have heard that the Congress high command is going to take cognizance after the Lok Sabha election defeat, before that the Chief Minister should respectfully resign from the post of Chief Minister. You have lost public opinion.

The manner in which the Chief Minister adopted various tactics to influence the elections is unfortunate. An attempt was made to influence the votes of the employees by pressurizing them. Bags full of forms for Rs 1500 for women were filled. Now that you have already filled the forms, you should also tell the public as to when the women will get these Rs 1500. This needs to be clarified.

Jairam Thakur said that the crisis on the government has not been averted, the decision of CPS is reserved, as soon as the High Court opens the crisis on the government will come again.

Taking a jibe at Sukhu, he said that he must have got the answer of flop director from the election results. Delhi and Himachal are such states where BJP got a big majority despite the ruling party being in power.

On this occasion, Jai Ram Thakur also presented the election figures of Himachal and all the parliamentary constituencies before the press and he also thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi, National President Jagat Prakash Nadda, Central Ministers Amit Shah, Nitin Gadkari, Yogi Adityanath that their election tours gave a big strength to the BJP.
