The President of India arrives at Shimla on a five-day official visit to Himachal

The President of India, Smt Droupadi Murmu arrived at Shimla on five days to visit Himachal Pradesh from May 4 to 8, 2024. 

The President of India landed at Kalyani Helipad at 1035 hrs in a special airforce helicopter along with the Rashtrapati Bhavan staff.

She was welcomed by Himachal Pradesh Governor Shiv Partap Shukla at Kalyani Helipads.

Earlier to this she was scheduled to land at Jubberhati airport at 1100 hrs however it was learned that due to mainly clear weather President aircraft landed at Kalyani Helipeds near Rashtrapati Bhavan the Retreat in Shimla. The entire road from Shimla to Retreat was sensitive to ensure the safety of the President. 

During her visit, the President would stay at the Rashtrapati Niwas, Mashobra, Shimla.

On May 6, the President would grace the 7th convocation of the Central University of Himachal Pradesh at Dharamshala.

On May 7, the President would witness a cultural program at Gaiety Heritage Cultural Complex, Shimla.  

Later, she would attend a dinner hosted by the Governor of Himachal Pradesh at Raj Bhawan, Shimla.
