The health department organized an awareness camp in ITI Shimla

An awareness camp was organized at ITI Chaura Maidan under the International Youth Day campaign. It was presided over by Principal ITI Joginder Sharma. This year on International Youth Day, the theme is ‘From Click to Progress – Youth Digital Path for Sustainable Development’. This program was organized under the joint aegis of CMO Shimla and Head of Department of Community Medicine IGMC Dr. Anmol Gupta.
On this occasion, Dr. Aakriti of IGMC informed the youth about the ill effects of HIV AIDS, drug addiction, mental health, and various schemes run by the health department. She also made the youth aware of the importance of eye donation and care. Chief Medical Officer District Shimla Dr. Rakesh Pratap said that the young generation is the future of our country, so there is a great need for them to be empowered and aware. He appealed to the youth to stay away from drugs, keep themselves free from stress, do exercise and yoga daily, adopt a healthy lifestyle, and contribute to the development of the country. He said that Eye Donation Fortnight will also be run in the district from 25 August to 8 September, under which various types of awareness activities will be conducted throughout the district.
On this occasion, the youth present at Abha IRD were also present and a speech competition was also organised and prizes were distributed to the winners.
