State Congress Working President and Chief Parliamentary Secretary Sanjay Awasthi has expressed grief over the Palampur incident and said that BJP cannot take any political advantage of this incident. He has said that this incident is very sad. The police have caught the accused and he will be given strict punishment under the law. This incident should never be seen in connection with the law and order situation in the state, as BJP leaders are raising questions on the law and order situation in the state after this incident in their election rallies at various places.

Sanjay Awasthi has said that the government stands with the victim woman and her family and will leave no stone unturned to provide her complete justice. He said that Chief Minister Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, after meeting the victim’s family, has already announced that the state government will bear the entire expense of the health treatment of the injured girl. He said that such incidents are very painful in society but there should be no politics on any such incident.

Sanjay Awasthi has said that at present BJP does not have any issue with elections in the state. He said that it is BJP’s habit to play with people’s emotions. He said that the way BJP tried to carry out Operation Lotus in the state, it failed miserably. He said that the character and face of the BJP have been revealed to the people of the state.

Criticizing the BJP, Sanjay Awasthi has said that the BJP is unsuccessfully trying to mislead the people in the state for its political purposes. He has said that the way BJP made an unsuccessful attempt to destabilize the Congress government in the state as part of a conspiracy, the BJP has come completely on the back foot. He has said that the Congress government has an absolute majority in the state and there is no threat to it. After the election results, the Congress government of the state will become even stronger. This time, Congress will hoist the flag of victory in all four Lok Sabha seats of the state as well as six assembly by-elections.
