Swift Relief Efforts in Tandi: Deputy Commissioner Torul S Ravish Leads the Way

Deputy Commissioner Torul S Ravish visited Tandi village near GB of Banjar on Wednesday to assess the aftermath of a devastating fire and oversee the relief measures. The fire had impacted 33 families, prompting immediate action from the administration.

Ravish announced financial relief of ₹15,000 per family from government funds. Additionally, a substantial amount of ₹16.5 lakh was distributed among the affected families, with each receiving ₹50,000 through the Red Cross Society. The administration also supplied essential items, including blankets, cooking utensils, hygiene kits, and tarpaulin sheets.

The Deputy Commissioner assured the villagers that all their additional needs would be addressed promptly. He directed the immediate restoration of electricity and water supply in the area and instructed the installation of two mobile toilets. Arrangements for LPG cylinders were also initiated.

During his visit, Ravish interacted with the affected families, who expressed gratitude for the administration’s swift and effective response. The villagers appreciated the timely distribution of relief materials and fire extinguishers, which provided much-needed support during this difficult time.

The visit was attended by prominent officials, including SP Kartikeyan Gokulchandran, APMC President Ram Singh Mian, Kullu MLA Sundar Thakur, and SDM Pankaj Sharma, reflecting the administration’s collective commitment to aiding the affected community.
