Suresh Kashyap raises Bharatmala project issue in Lok Sabha
BJP’s re-elected MP from Shimla parliamentary constituency, Suresh Kashyap, raised the issue of the Bharatmala project during Zero Hour in the Lok Sabha. Highlighting the importance of his constituency, he said that Baddi Barotiwala Nalagarh is a significant industrial area. Under the Bharatmala project, the approval for a four-lane highway has been granted for this vital region. The project, initiated in 2021, has a sanctioned budget of approximately ₹469 crore and is scheduled for completion in 2024.
However, he pointed out that only 30 to 35 percent of the work has been completed so far. This four-lane highway will pass through both Haryana and Himachal Pradesh. Due to the industrial nature of the area and the slow pace of work, there are significant traffic problems. Frequent traffic jams are causing severe difficulties for the local residents and the people in the area. He urged the Minister of Road Transport and the central government to expedite the completion of this project as soon as possible, so that the local and industrial area residents can be relieved of these issues.
