Stray dogs menace in Shimla’s Dhalli Colony
Dhalli colony Shimla is grappling with the problem of stray dog menace. With roads and spaces becoming shelter homes for stray dogs thus causing a lot of problems for residents. One such resident Amita Sood shared her horrific experience. ” I left my house at 7.30 in the morning , from Sacred Heart School towards Dhalli Tunnel, as I reached there 7-8 strays The dogs attacked me , thankfully they did not bite me , I picked up a stone lying on the way so that it could run away but it did not happen , they surrounded me in a herd. Just yesterday also, these stray dogs surrounded and attacked a woman going from Churat Nala towards Dhalli Tunnel. I have informed Municipal Corporation Shimla many times about stray dogs , but no proper action was taken from their side. I have also told them that a bitch had given birth to a child, which has increased the number of stray dogs in the colony , but the ill-fated Shimla Municipal Corporation did not even pay attention to this. It is known to everyone that in Dhalli Ashiana Colony many old people , crippled , sick , children , elders live”.
Amita Sood has requested the Municipal Corporation to send their stray dog catching vehicle and take these stray dogs away from here , these stray dogs are a threat to common passers-by and creat multiple problems in the coming times.
