State wildlife Authority confirms arrival of Migratory birds at Sri Renuka Ji

On set of winter season in Himachal and snowfall on the trans Himalayan nations in the abroad, foreign migratory birds started arriving in the state Wetlands like Ramsar site Pong Dam, Govind Sagar in Bilaspur and Renuka and other water bodies in the state.
The State Wildlife authority confirmed that as many as 308 migratory foreign birdsseen at  Renukaji Lake in Sirmaur district  on the first day of December.
 According to the data received from the Wildlife Department, 308 birds had reached the 
International Renuka Wetland till Wednesday. The foreign birds that have reached Renuka  lake so far include Eurasian Coot-13.  Eurasian Moharan-280, Intermediate  Egret- 2, Little Cormorant 6 and Malad 7. 
Pong dam registered around 1.30 lakh migratory birds every year also witnessing the arrival of birds and Renuka lake around thousands of them. 
The auspicious entry of the beautiful winged guests expected to be double by the end of December and with more snowfall in high reaches the number likely to beincreased 
 Every year thousands of migratory birds travel a long distance of thousands of kilometers to reach the Renuka  and other Wetland as the clean water of Himalayan lakes areconsidered the new paradise to these birds owing to plenty of food in the form of trout andother plankton which grow in aquatic life.
The serene, unpopulated and clean environment here also plays a key role to attract the birds toward these man made and natural wetlands with less severe cold to itself.
