State earmarked space for playing ground & school
The justice was delivered to toddlers and student of Vijay Senior Secondary School, Mandi after state Government assured in Himachal Pradesh High court on May 9 that it would earmarked space for play ground and building of school in the place where state decided earlier to use the land for a shopping complex. Division Bench of Himachal Pradesh High court comprising justice Tarlok Singh Chauhan and justiceChander Bhusan Barowalia passed a order on May 9, copy of which supplied today said that counsel for the state and Deputy advocate General Yudhbir Singh Thakur has revealed before the court recently that a space measuring 36 x 10 meters has been exclusively earmarked for the playground of the Primary School, in question. However R. L. Chaudhary, the counsel for the petitioner(s) submitted that the grievance with regard to construction of the Primary School for Girls, which is existed over the land in question prior to its demolition and providing adequate playing area for toddlers, the respondents have taken care of both the demands, therefore, he is under instructions not to press these present petitions.The court disposed of petition However, it is made clear that if any of thebparty(ies) is still aggrieved, he is at liberty to avail of suchremedy as available to them under the law. This PIL was admitted on a letter addressed to the Chief Justice by a student of Vijay Senior Secondary School, Mandi.In Earlier hearing petitioner has alleged that during the Covid-induced lockdown, the state government physically wrecked and destructed the school building, playground and stage. The vacant space has also been covered, making the school congested.
