St. Edward’s School commemorates Independence Day with patriotic celebrations
St. Edward’s School recently commemorated Independence Day with a vibrant array of events that embodied the spirit of freedom, unity, and patriotism. The day began with the formal reception of the Chief Guests, followed by the hoisting of the National Flag. As the flag ascended, the National Anthem echoed across the school grounds, instilling a deep sense of pride and respect among all present.
Post flag-hoisting, the guests were ushered to the school hall, where the celebrations unfolded further. The program commenced with tributes to the nation’s brave soldiers, complemented by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, adding a traditional and solemn touch to the occasion. The celebration’s theme emphasized the significance of honoring our freedom fighters and reflecting on the values for which they sacrificed.
The School Choir captivated the audience with a powerful group song that stirred national pride. The event concluded with words that encapsulated the celebration’s essence, reminding everyone of their responsibilities towards the nation.
The festivities extended beyond the main program, as students from various houses engaged in a series of activities showcasing their talents and creativity. These activities included a human tableau, poetry recitation, group dance performances, vodcast presentations, rangoli artistry, a cuisine showcase, tree plantation, and competitions in chess and table tennis.
