Sr Cong MLA Chandra Kumar takes oath as Pro-tem Speaker
Senior Congress Member of Assembly in Himachal Pradesh today took oath of protem speaker for oath taking ceremony of new legisltors. The swearing-in ceremony take place at Raj Bhavan at 5:30 pm today. Being Corona positive, Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu did not attend the event, but Deputy CM Mukesh Agnihotri was present in the ceremony. Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar administerated the oath of office to Chandra Kumar. Chief Secretary RD Dhiman and administrative officers was also be present on this occasion. Chandra Kumar won for the sixth time from the Jawali assembly constituency of district Kangra. Chandra Kumar first became an MLA in 1982, after this he won assembly elections in 1985, 1993, 1998 and 2003 and later went to Lok Sabha., the senior most member who has spent the most time in the assembly is appointed as the pro tem speaker. Keeping this in mind, he would administer the oath to the newly elected legislators.
