Spike in Covid : All educational Institutions close till Jan 26
Himachal Pradesh Government decided to close summer vacation Educational Institutions till Jan 26 due to sudden Spike in Covid cases and increasing infection of Corona Virus in the state.
Decision to keep close all Educational Institutions till Jan 26 was taken by the government here today after a state level coordination committee meeting held under the leadership of Chief minister Jai Ram Thakur.
Earlier summer vacation Educational Institutions in the Foothills and mid hills of state was scheduled to be open on Monday onwards but now along with Winter vacational summer vacation Educational Institutions to be remained off till Jan 26.
It was decided in the meeting that all the educational institutions, except Medical, Dental and Nursing Colleges in the State would remain closed till 26th of this month, to ensure safety of the students.
However no separate notification was made about online classes in these Educational Institutions on the line of summer opening Punjab Educational Institutions where online classes are being under way.
It is worthwhile to mention here that R factor of Covid went up by four in the same and postivity rate jumped above seven even 18 in Kangra and Kullu district.
On Dec 31,2021 there were only 466 active cases in the state which jumped as on Saturday (today) upto 2881 which means that in last one week active case rise by 2415 which is alarming state of Covid outbreak in the evenly populate Himachal. As many as 308 to 309 new cases pouring in the hills State daily in last one week. On Saturday state registered highest spike of 728 case.
State witnessed massive public gathering on Christmas, New year and four years celebration of Jai Ram Thakur Government at Padal ground function invited number of cases as school and Educational Institutions were already remained off since last fortnight.
Government remained fail to address the 3rd wave after one week of increasing cases every days convened a video conference with the DCs/SOs and CMIo.
Now Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur ordered the Administeration to ensure enhance covid testing, effective monitoring of clusters and strict perimeter to check the spread of third wave of the pandemic.
It was first time in last six months when government puts emphasis on thep preparedness regarding availability of beds, oxygen PPE kits and drugs
State government informed media ina press release on today that it has asked the respective Administeration to impose restrictions strictly to ensure Covid appropriate behaviour.
Government also cautioned the state Administration that medical experts were expecting a sharp surge in number of cases in next few days and weeks, thus special precautions must be adopted.
Now government also directed the authorities to make mechanism of home isolatio more effective and revised home isolation guidelines must be implemented.
During the cabinet meeting held on January 5 State council of ministers decide to close the Cinema Halls Gym, swming polls in the state and permitted 50 per cent gathering in public event, publica and Poltical indoor and outdoor meeting if the venue and indoor seating capacity.
