Special meeting of the executive of Bhatt Brahmin Welfare Committee concluded in Haripurdhar
A special meeting of the executive of Bhatt Brahmin Welfare Committee of Giri Par area of Sirmaur district was held in the Maa Bhangyani temple complex in Haripurdhar. In this meeting held under the chairmanship of Shri Hirapal Sharma, senior vice president of the registered committee, it was unanimously decided that the entire Bhatt Brahmin community of Giri Par area, which is included in the OBC category, will strongly support the petition filed in the Himachal High Court for inclusion of their community in the Scheduled Tribe and will put forward their side strongly. In today’s meeting, it was decided that our committee will submit all the documents sought by the High Court from the Bhat Brahmin Welfare Committee through its lawyer during the hearing held in the Himachal High Court on August 20, so that this community can become a party in the petition filed by some confused people of the Hati community, Scheduled Caste and OBC under 1/10 and can lobby diligently to get their community included in the Scheduled Tribe category under the banner of Bhat Brahmin Welfare Committee. It was also decided in the meeting that when the High Court lifts the stay on the inclusion of people of this region in the Scheduled Tribe category, the Bhaat Brahmin Kalyan Samiti will try to get OBC certificates issued to its category along with the rights of Scheduled Tribe from the Himachal government so that both OBC and Scheduled Tribe certificates can be made and our committee will place this matter before the Himachal government on the same lines on which the Scheduled Tribe people of Kinnaur are being given Scheduled Caste certificate along with Scheduled Tribe certificate.
In the meeting, it was discussed in detail that inclusion of any caste in OBC category or exclusion of any caste from OBC is the monopoly of Other Backward Classes Commission and if someday Bhatt Brahmins of Giri Par region are also excluded from OBC by Other Backward Classes Commission, then at that time Bhatt Brahmins of Giri Par region will not have any other option of reservation and it is likely to cause a great loss to the entire region and if the entire community has to suffer the consequences of the mistake of some people, then the committee cannot accept it. Therefore, we are in support of the decision of the Central Government to grant tribal status and we are thankful to the Central Government for this and we consider it beneficial to be included in the Scheduled Tribe category in view of the current situation so that the coming generations can avail various benefits of Scheduled Tribe.
In the meeting, District Sirmaur Giripar Bhaat Kalyan Samiti executive’s chief spokesperson Mela Ram Sharma, general secretary Om Prakash Sharma, chief advisor Vijay Bhardwaj, Tilak Raj Sharma, Mukesh, Krishna Dutt Sharma, Ved Prakash Sharma, Vinod Sharma, Pandit Hetram Sharma and Pandit Harinder Sharma and Dayaram Bhardwaj and other executive members participated in today’s meeting and understanding the seriousness of the issue, agreed to put forward their point strongly. All the colleagues agreed to save the entire region from the misleading concept of some people and to provide them the benefits of ST and agreed to make the people of the region aware. An appeal has also been made by the committee to not get misled by anyone.
