Special campaign regarding drunk and drive will be conducted in district Shimla, to reduce road accidents. This is what Deputy Commissioner Shimla Anupam Kashyap said today in the meeting of the District Level Road Safety Committee.
Drunk and drive causes several accidents on the road, the deputy commissioner said. In this way, a special campaign will be conducted aimed at reducing these accidents in the district.
He said crash barriers will be installed at the spot where accidents occur or accidents are likely to happen. Rumble strips will be installed to prevent overspeeding in the same flat areas to reduce road accidents.
Anupam Kashyap said that sign boards have been installed in very few numbers in Shimla city as well as the entire district. He gave necessary guidelines to the Department of Public Works in this context so that there is no jam situation in Shimla city. The Deputy Commissioner also instructed the Public Works Department to identify black spots in the district. Deputy Commissioner said interlock barricets will also be bought for district police in view of road safety.
He said we desperately need machines and vehicles to deal with a road accident. The offer to buy 2 dedicated ambulances and 04 cranes will be prepared in this way. These dedicated ambulances will be placed in the Thiyog and Kumarsain area to bring them into use in emergency situation.
