On September 21, environmentalist and social activist Sonam Wangchuk, leading a march from Ladakh, arrived in Nerchowk, Mandi. The marchers were warmly welcomed by several organizations, including the Balh Bachao Kisan Sangharsh Samiti, Vyapar Mandal, Gurudwara Management Committee, Kisan Sabha, and the Four-Lane Sangharsh Samiti. Wangchuk highlighted that the march, which is headed toward Delhi, aims to raise awareness about Himalayan conservation among the people and the Government of India.

Prem Chaudhary, president of the Balh Bachao Kisan Sangharsh Samiti, emphasized the need to protect fertile land, mountains, forests, and the environment to shield humanity from the adverse effects of climate change. He stressed that if the glaciers melt, water shortages will become inevitable, and it is up to us to take responsibility for their protection.

The event saw participation from notable figures, including Sardara Singh, president of the Gurudwara Management Committee, Rajiv Uppal, Govind Thakur from the Vyapar Mandal, and social activists like Kishan Busheri and Hukam Chand. Representatives from the Balh Bachao Kisan Sangharsh Samiti and the land acquisition/four-lane committee, such as Nand Lal Verma, Joginder Walia, Puran Chand, and Devi Roop, were also present.
