So far, seizures and fines worth 37.17 crores

A spokesman of the Election Department said here today that during the blockade by the Police Department at various places in the state during the Model Code of Conduct implemented in view of the Vidhan Sabha elections, cash worth Rs 22.32 lakh while 2500 liters of illegal English worth about Rs 11.41 lakh. And country liquor and beer have been confiscated.
He informed that during the blockade by the Income Tax Department, cash worth Rs. 1 crore 35 lakh 50 thousand has been seized. State Tax and Excise Department seized 27479 liters of illicit liquor worth Rs one crore one lakh 50 thousand 158.

So far, a total of Rs 14 crore 93 lakh 98 thousand 560 cash has been confiscated by the Police and Income Tax Department across the state while 857516.491 liters of liquor worth Rs 12 crore 39 lakh 98 thousand 263 has been seized by the Police, State Tax and Excise Department. The beer has been confiscated. In the joint action taken by the departments, a total of Rs 37 crore 17 lakh 21 thousand 989 worth of illicit liquor, cash, narcotics etc. have been seized and fined.
