Snowfall in Lahaul Spiti, Mercury freezes at Minus 0.4 degrees

High reaches of Himachal  Pradesh got major spell of snowfall in last 24 hrs plunging down the night temperature below freezing  points in Minus , Indian Meterolgocial Department said in a press released issued here today. Gondla in Lahaul spiti had three centimeter snowfall , Keylng had one cm. The gateway of Lahaul Spiit at Rohtang Pass, Lady of Keylong, Seven sisters’ hill , Goshal hills and Kunzum pass got major spell of snowfall. High reaches of Chamba alos had snowfall  .Tourist ressort Dalhousie in Chamba district had 23 mm rainfall, Chamba 17 mm  and Kotkhai in Shimla 13 mm, Dharmshala 12 mm and Kangra 11 mm and  Palampur five mm.  Minimum temperature of Keylong headquarter of Lahaul Spiti  recorded minjus 0.4 degrees , Kukameri 0.1 degrees, Kalpa in Kinnuar was 1.4 degrees, Minali was five degrees and Tourist resort Dalhousie five and Kufri 7.6 degrees and Shimla 12 degrees. The Met forecast light rain and snowfall at isolated places of state including, Chamba, Lahaul Spiti, Kullu aandKinnuar in next 24 hrs. The weather would be mainly dry in the rest of state. The coldwave and early snowfall pose major challenge to the election parties which is going to conduct poll in the tribal areas already having snowfall on November 12, 2022.
