Snowfall in high reaches , three trekkers died in snowfall
Normal life was out of track in the state during last 24 hrs after continue unseasonal rain and snowfall in most places in the state three trekkers belonged Mumbai and Goa died after missing in the heavy snow storm in Kinnaur district,district administration said.
The Met Office said that Gondla in Lahaul Spiti recorded 15 cm snow, Hansa & Khadrala( Shimla districtfive cm each and Keylong three cm.
The gateway to Lahaul Spiti, 13050 ft Rohtang Pass, Kunzum Pass, Baralacha, Lady of Keylong, Sapatrishi hillGoshal hills, Shikaridevi of Mandi, Dhauladhar ranges of Kangra, Sachpass, Manimehash, high reaches of Bharmour and Pangi in Chamba, Kinner Kailash of Kinnuar, High reaches of Dodra and Kawar of Shimlaalso received another major snowfall in last 24 hrs however the weather was mainly dry and sunny on Monday .
Three trackers were missing in the state owing to heavy snowfall recently and in last 24 hrs. Three trekkers died while coming to Sangla of Kinnuar district from Janglik of Rohru subdivision as they traped in snow blizzardThe deceased are identified as Deepak Rau(58) son of Narayan Rau, Rajinder Bhal Chander Pathak( 65) son of Bal Chander Pathak and Ashok Madhukar (64) son of Madhukar. The ITBP and police rescue team evacuated ten others trekkers in a difficult rescue operation bearing heavy snowfall.
Widespread rain lashed most places in the state as Rajgarh in Sirmaur had 77 mm rain, Kasauli in Solan 68 mm Naina Devi in Bilaspur 52 mm, Amb in Una 43 mm, Jhandutta in Bilaspur 40 mm, Dharampur & solan 34 mm eachBarthin in Bilaspur & Tissa in Chamba 32 mm each, Aghar in Hamirpur 31 mm, Pachhad , Renuka in Sirmaur
& Kothi in Kullu 30 mm each, Baldwara 27 mm & Kandaghat in Solan 25 mm each.
Tourist resort Manali had 24 mm rain, Bhoranj in Hamirpur 23 mm, Nadaun, Paonta Sahib in Sirmaur and Kahuin Bilaspur 22 mm each.
Minimum temperature was three to four degree below normal as Keylong was coldest in the state at minus 0.5 degreeCelsius, Kalpa in Kinnuar 0.6 degrees, tourist resort Kufri 2.9 degrees, Manali five degrees, , Dalhousie 6.2 degreesShimla 6.4 degrees, Solan 6.7 degrees, Sundernagar in Mandi 7.4 degrees, Bhuntar in Kullu eight degreesPalampur 9.2 degrees, Hamirpur 9.4 degrees and Chamba 9.5 degrees.
Minimum temperature of Dharmshala was 10.2 degrees, Kangra and Mandi 10.4 degrees each, Bilaspur 11.5 degreesUna 12. 1 degrees and Nahan in Sirmaur 13.9 degrees respectively.
The inclement weather along with heavy rain, snowfall and thunderstorm kept the normal life out of gears as 61 roads( 57 linkand two NH) are snowbound and power supply disrupted due to heavy rain and thunderstorm 210 areas mostly in Laual Spitiand Sirmaur.
Deputy Commissioner Lahaul Spiti Mr Neeraj Kumar said that Manali-Leh National highway no 3 is snowbound betweenDarcha to Sarchu and National Highway No 505 is blocked from Gramphu to Losar. Including two NH, around 57 linkroads are also snowbound including 42 in Lahaul and 15 in Udaipur.
Power supply also disrupted by the snowfall in 168 distribution Transformer regions(DRT) in district.Two link road in Kalpa of Kinnuarand Nirmand of Kullu was also snowbound. Power supply also affected in 42 area of Rajgarh in Sirmaur due to windstorm and heavy rainfall. State recorded 69 deaths in post monsoon rainfall due to road mishap and other rain related mishap.
The Met Office forecast mainly dry weather in next 24 hrs .
