Snowfall continue on the higher reaches of Himachal
High reaches of Himachal Pradesh experienced fresh snowfall and many places were lashed by rain, sleets, hail and thunderstorms in last 24 hrs. Kalpa recorded four cm snowfall, Tourist Kufri 1.5 cm and Kukumseri and Keylong-1 cm each, Nadaun in Hamirpur 35 mm rain Mashobra-27 mm, Shimla-24 mm, Jubbal Hatti & Hamirpur-17 mm each, Tourist resort Manali-16 mm, Rampur in Shimla and Kothi in Kullu 13 mm each, each, Shillaro & Saharan and Rampur (Shimla) 14 mm each , Wangtoo (Kinnuar) -13 mm each , Janjehli (Mandi )& Kandaghat (Solan) 10 mm each . State Disaster Management authority said that totsl 121 roads are snowbound in Himachal Pradesh including four National Highway. According to district administration Lahaul-Spiti only 110 roads are snowbound including 63 in Sub Division Lahaul , 45 in
Udaipur and two in Spiti NH-505 Gramphu to Lossar and NH-03 Darcha to Sarchu is officially closed till summer 2023. Travel Advisory was issued in view the road and weather conditions in the district, and the Black Ice Phenomenon, slippery road conditions & due to one-way traffic on NH 003. Only Local bound four by four vehicles and Sumo with chain are allowed to enter the district via ATR from 08:00 AM to 06:00 PM only till further orders. Sansari-Killar-Thirot-Tandi Road is open from Tandi to Kadhu Nullah only for four by four vehicles and Sumo with chain. Udaipur-Pangi road closed to landslide. On Manali-Keylong NH3 road is open for one-way vehicular movement so Police Department will ensure traffic movement and coordinate with District Kullu Police. Due to prevailing inclement weather in the valley and possibility of avalanches, Locals & tourists are advised to be very cautious while traveling in the valley. In case of snowfall, they are requested to move and stay in safe places. All Hotel and Homestay owners are also requested to advise their guests likewise.
