Simla Collective asked for a complete ban on plastic flex banners in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections
A delegation of Simla Collective met Neelam Dulta, Additional Election Officer, Officer of Election Commission, Himachal Pradesh, and asked for a complete ban on plastic flex (banners) in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Demanded to impose an appropriate punishment for violation.
Let it be known that Himachal Pradesh said that on the one hand plastic has been banned. A tax has been imposed on everything from small envelopes to every plastic item and the Election Commission has also completely banned the use of plastic during campaigning. But alas, flex made of plastic is used indiscriminately, which is a matter of concern. All political parties use plastic flakes in large quantities and leave them after elections, which are then thrown in forests and drains. Due to which the environment gets harmed, it not only affects our everyday life but also pollutes the environment, the latest example of this is the disaster that occurred in Himachal Pradesh last year.
Simla Collectorate believes that plastic should be completely banned in elections. Taking cognizance of this matter, the Honorable Himachal High Court has also asked to clarify the position of the government and higher officials.
Uma Mahajan, Raveen Singh, Ankur Thakur, Ranjit Kuthiala, Vivek Kashyap, Vipin Gupta, Kalyani Negi, etc. were present in the delegation.
