SFI submitted a memorandum regarding student demands to CM Sukhu

Today SFI submitted a memorandum regarding student demands to Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu at Himachal Pradesh University in which various demands were raised.

The first demand in this was that the democratic right of the students to hold direct student union elections should be restored as soon as possible. Because due to the absence of direct student union elections, the students are not able to prominently place their demands before the university administration and the state government and at the same time the political consciousness of the students is being destroyed. Due to the absence of direct student union elections, educational corruption is being encouraged.

The second main demand in this was that it has been almost 2 years since the previous Vice Chancellor left and no permanent Vice Chancellor has been appointed in the university yet. Due to which many irregularities are being seen in the functioning of the university. Therefore, it is necessary to appoint a permanent Vice Chancellor in the university as soon as possible. So that the functioning of the university can be improved.

Our third main demand in this was that a judicial inquiry should be conducted as soon as possible into the fake recruitment of professors in the university and all the professors recruited illegally should be removed as soon as possible so that quality education and research can be saved in the university.

Apart from this, many other demands were raised before the Chief Minister like hostel facilities should be provided to all students, irregularities in the ERP system should be eliminated, fake admissions in Ph.D should be stopped, non-teaching staff should be recruited as soon as possible instead of outsourcing.

After this, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu has assured that action will be taken on these demands as soon as possible.
