Samarthi Program: Now unlimited girls will get financial help

The Una district administration has made a significant change to its financial aid program for girls from economically disadvantaged families, aimed at supporting higher education under the Strength Program. Previously limited to 25 girls in the first phase, the program has now been expanded to benefit an unlimited number of eligible girls.

To qualify, applicants must meet specific criteria: their father must be deceased or they must have a disability of over 70 percent. Additionally, candidates must be enrolled in a post-12th institution for higher education, with a family annual income not exceeding ₹50,000. They should not be beneficiaries of any other similar scheme and must be permanent residents of Una District. For more details, interested individuals can visit the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, room number 413.

Furthermore, the administration is offering financial aid of up to ₹1 lakh for NEET and UPSC exam preparation for students from poor families.

Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal emphasized that this initiative aims to help poor families realize their dreams of higher education. The Empowerment Program is designed to uplift youth, women, and various societal groups, fostering community development.
