Ruling party playing cards of power and liquor to allure voters :Cong
Congress party blamed the ruling BJP Government for playing duel card of power and liquor to allure the voters.
This was stated by State Congress unit spokesperson Mr Naresh Chauhan while addressing a press conference here today.
Taking dig over seizure of massive consignment of liquor by the Rampur police last night Mr Chauhan that ruling party have have discovered the surefire recipe and booster dose to allure the voters. He said that anger spread against inflation and unemployment would be pacified by offering free liquor.
He informed that two pick-up vehicles were caught by the Rampur police last night around 0300hrs loaded with liquor.
He said that police acting upon an information from the villagers, reportedly sized about 40 boxes of English and country liquor allegedly being carried by the BJP’s Rampur General Secretary and Deputy Pradhan.
He said that case has been registered by the police under excise act. He said that case should also be registered in violation model code of conduct against the culprits.
Releasing press release on Sunday Director General of Police Mr Sanjay Kundu informed that till Oct 24 Police registered total of 101 cases have been registered under the Excise Act.
During the period about 1091.587 liters of country liquor, 351.812 liters of English liquor and 757 liters of beer have been recovered from the accused, he added.
The police is yet to provide information of about fresh siezures made in last 48 hrs.
Himachal Pradesh Police also caught huge catchy of Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances & drugs beside illicit liquor during special vigil sounded in-wake of by Election being held in the state.
After the implementation of the model code of conduct in the state, 35 cases have been registered against the violators under the NDPS Act and in violation of guidelines of the Election Commission.
During various search operation police made siezures of about 7.644 kilogram charas, 0.1593 kg heroin, 0.096 kg opium from the accused beside this Police also recovered 0.520 kg ganja, 14.440 kg poppy powder and 35 LSD paper, he added.
