Results declared for state level ‘Digital-Ignition Contest’
The Department of Digital Technology and Governance (DDTG) has declared the results of the state-level ‘Digital-Ignition Contest’. The contest was an innovative initiative of the DDTG in order to promote the inclination of youth towards information and digital technology. A total of 1,379 private and government sector students from class 6th to college level participated in the contest.
In a category of the students belonging to Classes 6 to 8, Darsh Verma, class 6 student of DAV, Bilaspur, and Vihaan Mittal, class 6 student of The Lawrence School, Solan, stood first, while Prakriti Sharma, class 7 student of Loreto Convent Tarahall, Shimla, and Adarsh Khan, class 7 student of Government Senior Secondary School Ambehara Dhiraj, Una stood second. Vaishnavi Bassi, class 8 student of Green Field Senior Secondary School, Kangra, and Anvi Bhatia, class 8 student of Government Senior Secondary School, Goela, Solan, bagged third prize.
In a category of the students belonging to class 9th to 12th, Ranveer Kohli and Karan Singh of Class 9, Parinur Sekhon, Rudraveer Suri and Riya Boora of Class 10, Preet Gupta of class 11 and Ojas Tanwar of Class 12 from The Lawrence School, Sanawar, Solan, Honeydeep, a class 11 student of Government Model Boys Senior Secondary School, Nalagarh, Solan, Shriya, a class 9 student of Rainbow International School, Kangra, Aditya Rajput, a class 11 student of Government Senior Secondary School, Kathog, Kangra, Anshul, a class 11 student DAV School, Kangra, Divyansh Gupta, a class 9 student of DAV Ambuja Vidya Niketan Public School, Darlaghat, Solan, Ajay Kumar and Akriti, class 11 students of Government Senior Secondary School, Jadrangal, were declared joint winners.
At the college level, no entry was found eligible for the award.
Secretary, DDTG Dr. Abhishek Jain said that as per the thinking of Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, an effort was to utilize and analyze the creativity of youth so that they could contribute in the progress and development of the state.
The contest was organized from 1st to 10th November, 2023. Students from classes 6th to 8th was asked to create a PPT on ‘Use of Digital Technology for Prosperous Himachal Pradesh’. Students of class 9th to 12th participated in a quiz session on ‘Use of Artificial Intelligence in Governance, Digital Literacy and Cyber Security’. College level students were asked to prepare a concept note on how to use Artificial Intelligence in Governance.
