Rescue operation stopped after inclement weather

Deputy Commissioner Kinnaur Abid Hussain Sadiq said here today that on October 17, 2021, information about 11 tourists coming to and from Chitkul from Uttarkashi getting caught in the snow was received last evening.
 Immediately after receiving the information, the officials of Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force and Army were contacted and rescue and relief work was started this morning by the soldiers of Army and ITBP.  ITBP. 
 In search of tourists from Nithal Tach, the soldiers of the army made their way in about three and a half feet of snow. 
 On the other hand, rescue and relief work was also started by the chopper of the army and the relief teams today found a tourist and a guide trapped in the snow, out of which the tourist has been safely transported to Uttarkashi through a chopper, while the guide was given to the army personnel there.  which will be airlifted to Uttarkashi tomorrow.
 He said that during this time the relief and rescue teams received 5 bodies of tourists from different places, which will also be collected at one place and sent to Uttarkashi by helicopter tomorrow. 
 He said that still four other tourists are missing and two tourists found have told that they were coming towards Himachal.
 After 1400hrs today due to bad weather, the chopper flight could not take place and due to this relief and rescue work was stopped. Now Army helicopter and ITBP would move to rescue 0630 am on Friday Relief and rescue operations would be started by the jawans again.
