RD Dhiman took over as new Chief Secretary in Himachal Pradesh

1988 batch IAS officers R D Dhiman today took over as new Chief Secretary of Himachal Pradesh on Friday replacing Ramsubhag Singh from this post. Mr Dhiman joined as top bureaucrat of state who was given warm welcome at state secteriat. RD Dhiman holds a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and Post Graduate degree in Governance & Development. After joining state Mr Dhiman hold various  prestigious institution and department in education and administration  in the state, country and abroad. He was earlier posted as additional chief secretary of power, multi power project, no renewable energy sources, Industry, labour and employment chairman of state Electricity Board. He has served for 30 years in many important administrative positions in state government like – Additional Chief Secretary of Revenue, Agriculture, Forest and Language Art & Culture; Principal Secretary of Industries, Labour & Employment, Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Social Justice & Empowerment, Industries, Education, Agriculture; Chairman & Managing Director & Member (Admn.) of HP State Electricity Board; Managing Director of HP Power Corporation Ltd., Electronics Dev Corporation, HP Financial Corporation, State Industrial Development Corporation; Secretary of Rural Development & Panchyati Raj etc. Mr Dhiman is seventh Chief Secretary of Jai Ram Thakur. State Government was under pressure to reshuffle in top bureaucratic posts of Chief Secretary before the completion of his term and before Vidhan Sabha Election as opposition, within ruling party and Industrial houses were pressing on the issue. Outgoing Chief Secretary Ramsubhag Singh had joined as chief secretary on August 5, 2021 after replacing Anil Kumar Khachi who is currently serving as State Election Commissioner.
