Rajgarh’s Randeep Singh Selected for Assistant Commandant Post
The saying “Fortune favors the brave” truly fits Randeep Singh Sarolta of Rajgarh, who has proved that nothing is impossible with strong determination. Recently, Randeep passed the national-level Assistant Commandant exam conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), bringing pride to his parents and the Rajgarh region. He is the first young man from the Rajgarh area to pass this extremely challenging UPSC exam. Prior to this, Randeep served in various positions in the Indian Navy. Driven by his passion to become an officer in the armed forces, he voluntarily retired from the Indian Navy last year.
To become an Assistant Commandant, candidates must pass a rigorous written and physical examination conducted by UPSC, followed by showcasing their talents before a selection board.
Randeep Singh Sarolta was born in 1989 in Dohr village near Rajgarh. Coming from a modest family, he fulfilled his parents’ dreams by becoming an officer in the armed forces. His father, Jagdish Chand Sarolta, is a simple farmer, and his mother, Nirmala Devi, is a homemaker. His wife, Pratibha Chauhan, works at Punjab National Bank in Solan. They have a one-and-a-half-year-old daughter named Takshvi Sarolta.
Randeep completed his primary education up to the fifth grade in his native village and later passed his 12th grade from Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Nahan. Being a talented student, he joined the Indian Navy, where he earned a master’s degree in English and Public Administration and a bachelor’s diploma in Journalism and Mass Communication (BJMC).
In an interview, Randeep revealed that he cracked this tough national exam without any coaching. He shared that he always had a passion for wearing the military uniform, which he fulfilled in the Indian Navy. After taking voluntary retirement, he worked hard to become an Assistant Commandant and achieved his dream of becoming a military officer.
