Rajesh Dharmani & Yadvinder Goma inducted into the Himachal Pradesh Cabinet
Two more councils of ministers were inducted in the nine members of the cabinet of one year Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu government here on Tuesday.
Himachal Pradesh Governor Shiv Partap Shukla administrated the oath of office and secrecy to two members of the legislative assembly Ghumerwin of Bilaspur district Rajesh Dharmani who is a time member of assembly and Yadvinder Goma from a member of Jaisinghpur assembly of Kangra at Rajbhavan in a hurriedly called cabinet expansion.
Currently, including Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu and Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri, there are nine councils of ministers in the state cabinet, and expansion has been on the board for last year. With the induction of three more ministers total number of council ministers became 11. Now one post remained vacant in the twelve-member council of ministers.
Among the current members of the COM are three ministers from Shimla including Rohit Thakur from Jubbal and Kotkhai, Vikramaditya Singh from Rural Shimla, and Anirudh Singh from Kasumpti. Dr Dhani Ram Shandil from Solan, Harshvardhan Chauhan from Sirmour, Jagat Singh Negi from Kinnaur, and Chander Kumar from Kangra. Kuldeep Singh Pathania is the speaker from the Chamba district.
Three seats in the Council of Ministers have been vacant for the last one year. Mr Sukhu has been given the green signal for cabinet expansion recently during the completion of the year celebration.
The portfolio of newly inducted ministers may be announced today.
Mr Rajesh Dharmani is the son of Rattan Lal Dharmani he was born on April 2, 1972, at Ghumarwin, Dist. Bilaspur. Mr Dharmani is an alumnus of NIT Hamirpur as he graduated with a B.Tech (Civil). His MBA from IGNOU. He is married to Smt. Sonika Sharma and have a daughter. Mr Dharmani is an Engineer, Agriculturist, Politician, and Social Worker by profession. Before joining electoral politics he was secretary of the Pradesh Congress Committee, and he also held the post of Vice President, and General Secretary, in the State Youth Congress; President, D.C.C.; Secretary, A.I.C.C., and General Secretary & Convenor Technical Cell NSUI. He was elected to the State Legislative Assembly in December 2007 and re-elected in 2012 and 2022 he was also elevated as Chief Parliamentary Secretary from 2013 to 2017. Elected to the State Legislative Assembly (3rd term) in December 2022; nominated as Chairman of, the Human Development Committee; and Member, of Public Accounts & e-Governance-cum-General Purposes Committees.
Mr Yadvinder Goma was son of Smt. Vidya Devi and Milkhi Ram Goma (former Member, H.P. Vidhan Sabha, and former Congress minister. He was born on 4th February 1986 at Palampur Kangra, H.P. He is a postgraduate with a B.Tech (Mechanical Engineering), an MBA (from IEET Baddi, H.P.) and married to Smt. Neelam Goma and have a daughter. He is Engineer, Businessman, and Agriculturist by the profession. Before joining electoral politics he held the portfolio of President of Youth Congress, Jaisinghpur Constituency, 2010-2015; General Secretary, State Rajeev Gandhi Panchayati Raj Sangathan, 2011-2014; and President, Himachal Pradesh Congress S.C. Cell, 2019-2021. He was elected to the State Legislative Assembly in 2012; re-elected in December 2022; nominated as Chairman, of the Subordinate Legislation Committee; and Member, of the Welfare & Rules Committees. He lost the 2017 assembly elections but was elected for the second time in 2022 defeating BJP MLA Ravinder Kumar Dhiman.
