Public health campaign will be included in the campaign against drug addiction : Pundir
Y.W.C.A. Shimla celebrated the 78th Independence Day. Members of the Jan Swasthya Abhiyan started by Himachal Gyan Vigyan Samiti, which includes Y.W.C.A., H.P.M.R.A., health sector experts etc., resolved to fight unitedly against the increasing evils in the society. While discussing the issues of increasing sexual harassment against women in the society today, Satyawan Pundir, State Convenor of Jan Swasthya Abhiyan and Gyan Vigyan Samiti expressed concern and appealed to the society to raise their voice unitedly. He said that there has been a decline in collective processes in the society, due to which mutual communication has decreased at the level of family, office and organization. The misuse of mobile technology is also responsible for this.
Dr. Baldev Negi of Himachal Pradesh University said that while Independence Day is a day of celebration for all of us, it also gives us an opportunity to reflect on the condition and direction of our path of development today. On this occasion, there is a need to unite and fight against the evils growing in society.
Similarly, Hukam Sharma expressed concern over the increasing cost of treatment and the shortcomings in the system for quality medicines and also expressed concern over the health facilities going out of the reach of the common man. Sharma said that we have not got this freedom easily.
In the meeting, a detailed discussion was held on the deteriorating health condition of the society in which the irregularities in the insurance schemes, quality of tests and medicines, decline in malnutrition and anemia, expensive medicines and weak system of controlling the prices of medicines etc. are responsible for the deterioration in health in the state.
