MLA said that in the expansion of the airport, about 1500 families from eight panchayats are expected to be displaced and about  700 businessmen in Gaggal Bazaar are being affected.

He said that the fertile land of many villages is going to be submerged in the project and displacement would render many without livelihoods and lands.

He said that proper compensation is not offered to affected people who are being paid on a very nominal rate of acquisition.

He said that the price of land in some places goes to Rs 1 crore per kanal however irrigated land is offered compensation of Rs 10 lakh per kanal.

. He said that this would not only affect families but would also cause noise pollution when taking off or landing big aircraft. Instead of uprooting people, a better place should be found elsewhere, he demanded.
