President Murmu on a 4-day visit to Himachal, Vehicular traffic paralyzed in Shimla town

President of India Droupadi Murmu is coming on four days visit to Himachal Pradesh on Tuesday she is scheduled to address the convocation ceremony of Himachal University on Wednesday and also addressed the passing out Alumni of the Indian Audit and Account Academy in Shimla.
According to sources in the Central Agencies President of India is coming first time to Himachal Pradesh after being elevated to Rashtrapati Bhavan She is scheduled to arrive at Kalyani Helipad at 1230 hrs on Tuesday and departure back to Rashtrapati Bhavan Delhi on April 21 at 1000 hrs.
President of India who stays at Rashtrapati Niwas the Retreat. She would address the Alumni of IAAA Shimla on April 19 in the morning and the Himachal Pradesh University convocation ceremony in the afternoon same day.
On April 19 She will be attending an Interaction session with officials/Trainees of Indian audit and accounts at Yarrows besides Convocation of HPU 1200-1620hrs.On April 20/23 probably she will be having the Advance study visit.
During the four days visit, she is likely to meet with the council of ministers of the Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu government.
A day ahead of the President’s visit SPG and local Police conducted a security drill in the town, the entire route from Shimla Airport to Retreat from Annadale Helipad to Charabra was manned by police and security officials. Vehicular traffic got paralyzed from Lakkar Bazar to Dahli and from Chota Shimla to Sanjoui choke due to heavy traffic jams as one-way and limited vehicular traffic was allowed.
An Advisory was also issued by the district administration that traffic will be restricted on the road from Kennedy Chowk to Boileauganj on April 19.
A press release issued here today by district Magistrate Aditya Negi stated that Shimla, Traffic on the road from Kennedy Chowk to Baluganj will be restricted on April 19, 2023, due to the proposed visit of the President of India.
Orders in this regard have been issued by District Magistrate Aditya Negi. As per the orders issued, traffic will remain closed for all types of vehicles from 1000 hrs am to 1700 hrs. These rules will not apply to emergency vehicles.
