President Election : BJP convened legislative party meeting at Chandigarh

After unfolding of a poltical drama of alleged poaching of Shiv Sena and Independent MLAs of Maharashtra, rulling BJP in Himachal Pradesh decided to set its house inorder to keep vigils on party MLAs and MPs deciding to hold party legislative party meeting immediately. A notification issued by the office of the Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, Government of Himachal Pradesh said that it would calling urgent meeting of BJP legislature party at Chandigarh tomorrow. In the notification Minister is quoted saying that all MLAs  have informed that the meeting of BJP Legislature Party under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur would be held on June 23, 2022 at 3-00 pm in Himachal Bhawan, Chandigarh. Party recently ignoring the probability of bickering among Prem Kumar Dhumal camp also publically given the membership to two Indipendent MLAs Parkash Rana amd Hoshiyar Singh who couldn’t be part of meeting as it could cost their membership on the ground of antidefaction law. There is also a monsoon session pending of this 13th legislative assembly if two Independent MLAs who are not with treasury benches defecto have to be sit with opposition benches. But they are being included in the BJP to increase the number of votes for President Election. It may be expected that 35 MLAs of ruling party including some Ministers who may not get tickets or being indicated by the party to be prepared for the outcome may create defaction during president Election. It is first time when ruling party invited BJP legislative meeting outside Himachal Pradesh. Chandigarh happened to be the Union territory and its police came under union Home Ministry . Party said that meeting  is certain to happen  at Chandigarh, as per the instructions of  Parliamentary Affairs Minister. Party had requested all council of Ministers and BJP MLAs  to  ensure their presence in the meeting at Himachal Pradesh Bhawan at Chandigarh.
