Premonsoon brings respite from heatwave in Himachal  

South West Monsoon is scheduled to touch Himachal Pradesh after June 26 or later currently facing a sweltering heatwave in the mid and plains got major respite last night when premonsoon rains however lashed many places of the state.

The maximum temperature of Una was around 39.6 degrees on Tuesday but widespread rainfall and thundershowers gave major respite from heatwave conditions on Tuesday night and it was pleasant on Wednesday.

According to Met Office Dhaula Kuan(Sirmaur) had 50.5 mm, Shimla 40 Jogindernagar(Mandi) 20 rainfall, Dalhousie 26 mm, Solan 20bmm, Madhobra and Jubberhati airport 17 mm. 

Thunderstorms hit Shimla, Sundernagar (Mandi), and Kangra districts in the past 24 hrs.

The minimum temperature was one to two degrees down the normal due to a fresh spell of premonsoon rains. Shimla is 16.3 degrees and 1.7 below normal.

Tourist resort Manali 16, Kufri 15, Narkanda 13.4, Dalhousie 14.2, Keylong (Lahaul-Spiti 10.5, Kslpa 12.8 and Dharmshala 22 degrees.

Airport Bhuntar 20 degrees, Jubberhati 19.4, Solan 20, Kangra 25, Mandi 22 6. Bilaspur 23, Hamirpur 24.8 and Chamba 22.2

It was mainly cloudy on Wednesday and the Met Office forecast light rainfall in part of district Solan, Shimla, and Sirmaur districts in the next 24 hrs.
