Pratibha Singh has urged the Central Govt to cooperate in the development of Himachal
State Congress President and former MP Pratibha Singh has urged the Central Government to cooperate in the development of the state and said that the Center should fulfill the demands of the state government soon. Describing Chief Minister Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu’s demand to the NITI Aayog to set separate criteria for providing financial assistance to hill states as completely justified, she said that the geographical conditions of Himachal Pradesh are such that any construction work costs more than the estimate. On the other hand, the state has suffered heavy damage to the roads, bridges, buildings and loss of government and private property worth crores of rupees due to natural disasters last year, which the state government has compensated with its limited resources. Apart from this, the families of those who died in this disaster and those whose residential buildings and cow sheds were destroyed have been given full financial help. In return, the central government should also provide special financial help to the state.
Pratibha Singh has accused the BJP of criticising the state Congress government every day due to political animosity. She said that the BJP left no stone unturned in ruining the state’s economy during its rule. The Congress government has inherited a debt of more than Rs 75 thousand crores and liabilities of more than Rs 15 thousand crores from the BJP.
Pratibha Singh has said that the Congress government is making every effort to bring the state’s economy back on track. She has urged the BJP leaders not to make useless statements and to support the state government and said that the state BJP should urge the central leaders to fulfill the demands of the state.
