Pratibha Singh expressed concern over media reports that samples of 11 medicines of the state have failed
Putting own govt in the dock over the frequent failure of drug samples being manufactured in the state, Cong state chief Pratibha Singh cautioned the ruling party.
In a statement issued here today, she expressed concern over reports of failure of samples of drugs meant for the country and the state and has asked the government to take strict action against the guilty pharmaceutical companies.
Pratibha Singh has asked Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu and Health Minister Colonel Dr. Dhaniram Shandil to not adopt any laxity in ensuring high-quality drugs to hospitals and in the state
She has said that no compromise on the quality of medicines can be tolerated.
Pratibha Singh has expressed her serious concern over the media reports that samples of 11 medicines of the state have failed, but has said that strict action should be taken against the companies which repeatedly manufacture substandard medicines.
A member of parliament from Mandi said that the medicines of these firms should also be tested in government hospitals.
Emphasizing the need to keep a special watch on the supply of medicines in the government hospitals, he has also said that they also get low-quality medicines from time to time. Information is being received, which is a matter of great concern.
She said that govt should strengthen health services in all hospitals of the state, especially in remote rural areas, and ensure the availability of essential medicines and services on doorstep
