Police personnel gave tips to Junga school children about road safety
Children of Government Excellent Senior Secondary School, Junga, organized an awareness rally in Junga market on Tuesday under the road safety campaign. In which the children made the people of the city aware through slogans.
Earlier, while addressing the children, Principal Suman Chandel said that it is mandatory for every person to have knowledge about road safety. Due to lack of knowledge about road safety, many road accidents are happening every day in which hundreds of people lose their lives every year. The Principal said that it has become the need of the hour to make children aware about road safety so that the message of road safety can reach every household through children.
Thereafter the school children were taken to the premises of the First Armed Battalion of Police located in Junga. Where Police Sub Inspector Ramesh Sharma gave detailed information about road safety to the students. In which, apart from always walking on the left side of the road, children below the age of 18 years should not drive any type of vehicle and under the Motor Vehicles Act, a driving license should be made only after completing the age of 18 years. He said that listening to mobile while driving, being intoxicated and driving at high speed is not only illegal but also a crime for which the driver can be issued a challan. He said that if a driver drives under the influence of alcohol or listens to a mobile phone, then it should be informed to the police and action can be taken against such a driver under the Motor Vehicles Act. Road Safety Coordinator Neelkamal, Lata Thakur, Suman Chauhan, Indu and Ashish Sharma and other teachers participated in the awareness rally.
