Police paper leak scam : Cong stages protest outside Rajbhawan in Shimla
State unit of Congress party today staged protest against the paper leak scam outside Himachal Pradesh Rajbhawan on Saturday. HP Police Constable recruitment paper leak case in Himachal Pradesh is gaining momentum as on Saturday Congress held a demonstration outside the Raj Bhawan under the leadership of party election campaign committee chairman Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu. During this, the Congress gave an ultimatum to Jairam Sarkar to bring the report of the police paper leak within 90 days. Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu said that Congress would intensify its agitation if the culprits are not caught soon. He said that till now it is not understood whether it is CBI or SIT investigating this matter. He said that 20 days have passed since the announcement of the Chief Minister to hand over the probe to CBI but SIT is continuing the probe. Congress workers also shouted slogans and Congress workers submitted a memorandum to the Governor demanding that the matter be investigated by the sitting judge of the High Court. Shimla Urban Congress President Jitendra Chaudhary told that the paper leak had spoiled the name of Himachal across the country which rarely witnessed such scams earlier.Jitendra Choudhary alleged that CM is giving clean chit to state police by issuing report their favour. They questioned that why the case has not been handed over to the CBI even 17 days after the announcement was made by Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur. He said that the paper which got leaked due to the negligence of the police officers, which could not be expected to conduct fair investigation in that matter. Police is working to save the accused, they added.
