PM lays stone of three new power projects in HP
Prime Minister Narendra Modi today laid the foundation stone of three new power project in Shimla, Hamirpur and Sirmaur district and also opened a Sawara Kudu power project in Shimla district on Monday.
Mr Modi was in Himachal Pradesh on Monday to attend a celebration held on the completion four years of Jai Ram Thakur at padal ground in Mandi district and inagurated developmental projects online from the Mandi town.
The Project opened in Shimla district was a 111 mw Sawra-Kuddu Hydro Power Project which was developed in last 14 yrs with the total cost of around Rs 2080 crore.
Power projects is already in generation having production capacity over 380 million units(mu) of electricity per year, and project was owned by Himachal Pradesh Power Corporation a state Public sector unit and state had already earned revenue worth over Rs 120 Cr. during its year long generation.
Mr Modi laid the stones of three new power projects including 210 mw Luhri stage-1 to be construct by Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam limited’s on Satluj River. The project was designed to produce 210 mw project at a cost of over Rs 1800 Cr. to generate of over 750 mu of electricity per year. A target has been set to complete this hydroelectric project in 62 months with expected investment of Rs 1810.56 crore.
This project will generate 758.20 million units of electricity annually. Project was designed with art of science green technology and would help to reduce carbon emission by 6.1 lakh tonnes annually. The project is expected to create employment to 2000 directly and indirectly.
The stone of Renukaji Dam project in Sirmaur district, pending for around three decade was laid down by the PM. It was jointly designed by the six states including Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand and Delhi with help of Centre for supplying 500 million Cubic meters drinking water to National Capital Delhi and 40 MW project to supply power to Himachal Pradesh and expected to cost .to be built at a cost of around Rs 7000 Crore
In Hamirpur district, stone was laid for 66mw Dhaulasidh Hydro Power Project, proposed to built estimated cost of Rs 680 crore. and generate over 300 million units of electricity per year.
PM unveiled 2nd ground breaking ceremony of Himachal Pradesh Global Investors’ Meet to attract worth around Rs 28,000 crore investment as MoUs would be signed during the meet by state governments with Public and private parties.
