People shiver in Himachal without power & connectivity
State people are shivering without power and road connectivity on Monday as Windstorm and heavy snowfall disrupted normal life in Himachal Pradesh. According to state disaster Management authority spokesperson as many as 2223 distribution Transformer Regions are groping without power in the bone chilling cold wave forcing People to remained inside house and stick to fireplaces. Shimla district which recorded moderate snowfall after five hours Windstorm on Sunday night and Monday morning affected 610 DTR. In the district Rohru Subdivision about 348 DTR are down followed by Kotkhai 101 DTR and 41 DTR are out of order in Jubbal. In Sirmaur district 444 DTR were affected by mainly Windstorm including 286 in Rajgarh and 162 in Nahan Subdivision. In Mandi district power affected in 327 DTR including 121 of Balachowki, 65 in Gohar and 50 in Karsog, 49 in Jogindernagar, 36 in Sundernagar and six in Mandi. 272 DTR are down in Kinnuar including 113 in Kalpa, 92 in Pooh and 67 in Nichar Subdivision, 232 DTR in Kullu including 208 in Thalot and 14 in Manali subdivision, in Chamba subdivision 132 Transformer distribution Regions are down including 70 in Salooni, 53 in Tissa, 10 in Bharmour & 4 in Chamba and 130 DTR is out of order in Lahaul-Spiti including 106 in Spiti and 24 in Lahaul snd 71 DTR in Amb Subdivision of Una also affected. In the state 481 roads and three National Highway also cut off many thousands of village and towns snapping vehicular traffic. Transport Services are almost standstill in many areas of Shimla District as including Old Hindustan Tibet National 190 roads are snowbound. Road communication of Rohru, Jubbal Kotkhai and Chopal are hampered as we mounted on many places. 112 roads are blocked in Rohru and 20 in Chopal Subdivision. Entire Lahaul Spiti district are cut of road communication as 177 roads and two National Highway are snowbound. Manali-Leh National Highway (NH-003), Darcha Shinkula road, Pangi Killar Highway ( SH – 26 ), Kaza road (NH-505) is closed from Graphu to Kaza and Sumdo to Losar are closed for all types of vehicles. Local people and tourists are advised to avoid unnecessary travel in case of snowfall.In Spiti valley 86 roads are off, 48 in Udaipur and 43 roads of Lahaul subdivision are snowbound. Including 12 roads of Kalpa, 33 of Pooh and 27 roads of Nichar Subdivision total 72 roads are snowbound in Kinnuar district, similarly 19 roads of Mandi , 14 of Chamba, 6 of Sirmour, two of Kangra and one road and two NH of Kullu of are also snowbound. Due to load shedding 19 water lifting Scheme are also disrupted.
