People dancing in Peeran Mela on a play called Munjare Jogi Jawana
On the occasion of Bhaiya Dooj, a fair celebrated since ancient times in the name of Junga Devta at Peeran of Mashobra block was concluded on Sunday. The cultural programs in the fair and the procession taken out by the local people i.e. Jatar were the center of attraction for thousands of people. In the fair, the artists of Jai Ishwari Kala Manch of the Information and Communication Department entertained the people who came to the fair by singing one Pahari song after another. On this occasion, famous folk singer Roshni Jasta sang the famous Sirmaur song Aisi in her melodious voice. By singing the song Mujra Jogi Jawana Be Chhedu Chojori Gorakhiya, the people in the fair were forced to dance.
Similarly, Rajesh Dhalta received a lot of praise for singing Damadam Mast Kalandar Sindhi and Chhap Tilak Sab Chheeni Re Mohe Naina Milaye in his melodious voice. Chetan Garg and the party in-charge Roshni Jasta performed Gorkha Swaang and highlighted the various welfare schemes of the state and the youth welfare. Gave the message to stay away from addiction. The artists of the group, Rita, Diya Kaushik, Lata Thakur made the audience dance by presenting a bouquet of Naatis sung in Mandiali, Sirmauri and Shimla district. Panchayat Pradhan Kiran Sharma, who was present as the chief guest on this occasion, while congratulating the people, announced to give ten thousand rupees to the fair organizing committee. Fair committee head Atar Singh Thakur said that on Bhaiyya Dooj, a fair will be organized in the name of the presiding deity Junga in Peeran. Since time immemorial, a fair is organized. In which first of all permission for the fair is taken from the Guru of the local deity at the place of 22 tika. After that the fair starts. Senior citizens of the village Daya Ram Verma, Daulat Ram Mehta say that this fair is not organized properly. People come from far and wide to see the ancient fair. Married daughters of the village also come to their parents’ home on Bhaiyya Dooj to seek blessings of their Kuldevta.
Before this, a procession was taken out by the local people to the tune of drums and shehnai which passed through 22 Tika Sthan Jubbar and culminated at the Thaud Mata temple. On this occasion, former Pradhan Dayaram Verma, Atar Singh Thakur, Daulat Ram Mehta, Mohan Verma, Chunni Lal Thakur, Jabar Singh Thakur, Khajan Singh Verma, Suresh Sharma, Hans Raj Verma, Ramgopal Mehta, Netra Singh Verma, Shubham Verma, Neeraj Thakur, Ankush Thakur and other dignitaries were present.
