Peeyush Verma Elected as President of Himachal Pradesh High Court Bar Association
In a closely watched election, senior advocate Peeyush Verma has been elected as the new President of the Himachal Pradesh High Court Bar Association (HPHCBA). Verma, who hails from Shimla and has been practicing law for 27 years, won the position by securing an impressive 691 votes. His nearest rival, advocate Dalip Kaith, garnered 313 votes, while advocate Tara Singh Chauhan finished third with 242 votes.
In the contest for Vice President, advocate Kiran Dhiman emerged victorious with 763 votes, defeating advocate Madhurika Verma, who secured 455 votes. Meanwhile, advocate Devender Kumar was elected as Secretary after receiving 631 votes, surpassing advocate Roshan Lal, who got 564 votes.
A total of 1,255 votes were cast in the election, with the newly elected office bearers set to serve a one-year term.
