Panel formed to investigate irregularities in the University in Himachal
After One decade of mushrooming of large numbers of Private Universities in Himachal Pradesh currently on the verge of a sudden decline in the quality of education, involved in flagrant violation of prescribed norms and anomalies in the appointment of faculties.
According to Official sources, the government state has formed a fact-finding panel to investigate irregularities in Indus International University.
The panel began the probe to find out why such institutions of higher earnings earned bad reputations and remained in controversy over the years.
The Regulatory Commission was repeatedly receiving complaints against the operation of Indus International University at par with the University Grant Commission (UGC) guidelines.
Besides this enrollment of students is also continuously declining and due to management conflict of interest staff could not be paid routine and nominal salaries.
As stated earlier the Himachal Pradesh Private Educational Institutions Regulatory Commission has summoned the university management today.
The logic behind the institution of the probe on the state government level was based upon the commission’s discreet finding in which various irregularities surfaced in the university affairs.
The HPPEIRC is of the view that Indus University could not be allowed to run continuously. Now the state government is waiting for a report from the fact-finding panel to ascertain the circumstances of disbanding the university after ten years of coming into existence.
This would be considered the last opportunity for educational trust to run the institution to present its final stand.
Earlier, the Regulatory Commission had recommended the government to close Indus University. The commission has submitted a report regarding this to the government.
