Oppn & Treasury benches head-on HP Assy witness noisy scene
Himachal Pradesh Assembly witnessed a noisy scene as Opposition members alleged that
they were not being permitted to raise the point of order in the house.
After a number of members of assembly raised fingers to present the point of order in the house, ignoring them,
the speaker allowed the Chief Minister to present the agenda of the house for the next week.
The agitated Opposition again insisted to raise the issue but the speaker did not allow and asked the BJP member
to raise the call attention motion under rule 62 to discuss the issue of death of a person due to traffic congestions
at Parla market traffic jam.
This further agitated the leader of the opposition and they kept on asking for permission in the house. Parliamentary
affairs minister Suresh Bhardwaj said that the leader of Opposition challenged the speaker. This was not accepted
on behalf of LOP to scuttle the proceedings of the house.
” Few people are kept by you (LOP) to shout slogans and the house would be allowed to run by rule. The LOP should
withdraw the words. ” said Bhardwaj.
Congress member Col. Dhani Ram Shandil demanded that one per cent posts in the government job should be reserved
for the visually impaired persons in addition to a three percent fixed quota for the physically challenged.
Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur greeted the Indian Olympics athletes for achieving the highest every medal tally in the games.
He said that Himachal Pradesh Government would offer three days free stay in the Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development
Corporation Hotels.
Cong member Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu wanted to speak in the house to greet the Indian Olympics athletes but the speaker
did not allow him stating that the Chief Minister had greeted those who won the medal.
