Oppn cordon govt for opening IPH division on political consideration
The opposition BJP tried to cordon off the Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu Government from opening of new Irrigation and Public division in the home constituency of the Chief Minister and Deputy CM on political considerations.
During the question hours on Thursday, the opposition BJP accused the state government and IPH minister of indulging in political favor to certain assembly segments as the IPH division was opened indiscriminately in the home segment of the Chief minister, and deputy CM. In reply to the query of Pawan Kajal of the BJP Deputy Chief Minister said that there should be 68 IPH subdivisions in each assembly segment. He said that the government opened three subdivisions in the Nadaon, Haroli, and Rajgarh assembly constituencies.
He said that during previous BJP IPH divisions were also opened on the political consideration in the election time but most of them were cancelled by this government as it was not opened rationally without completing the formalities and on the political consideration. He said that the IPH subdivision of Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania subdivision is in Dalhousie assembly at Banikhet but it is not rational as each assembly segment should have one division of IPH.
Leader of Opposition Jai Ram Thakur also said that the Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu government closed down 900 institutions assembly constituency on the consideration. He said that the government was blaming financial constraints should explain how new divisions are now being opened. Mr Mukesh Agnihotri stated that two divisions are open as the Rajgarh division was also opened by the government. The BJP member Randhir Sharma said that Reena Kashyap is a lone woman MLA and government should be sensitive while defending it. He said that there are nine assembly constituencies in which no IPH division exists however many of them have two or three IPH divisions should be rationalized.
But the speaker said that there is a lone CM and a lone deputy CM. Replying to Opposition allegations of political consideration of opening of IPH division CM Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said that his government closed down all Institutions opened during the departure of the BJP government but after one year in power, his government tried to improve the financial constraints.
” When Congress came into power it was not in a position to keep open all the Division opened in eight assembly constituencies but now states have improved financial conditions by at least 20 percent and are in a position to open three subdivisions and more others would be opened with improvement in the state funds in future.” intervening in the matter CM assured the house.
Earlier to this leader of the opposition pointed out that eight subdivisions opened by his government were closed down by the Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu and now it was opening it on political consideration
