HGVS will submit a memorandum to the Election Commission urging no use of drugs in elections

A three-day camp of the workers of Himachal Gyan Vigyan Samiti was concluded in Mandi in preparation for the campaign against drug addiction.

On the last day of the camp, the behavior of parents and teachers with children was discussed. Apart from this, counseling and various aspects related to it were also discussed. Resource person Vijay Kumar from Gunjan Sanstha discussed in detail counseling and the behavior of society towards children.

In the last session of the meeting, Professor Indernil of Jindal University including Punjab, Jammu & Kashmir, Uttarakhand, Delhi, and Dr. Om Prakash Bhureta, Secretary of Bharat Gyan Vigyan Samiti were also added online and their suggestions were taken.

State Secretary of the committee Satyawan Pundir said that in the coming days, a plan will also be prepared for a joint campaign with the states of the northern region.

He informed that Himachal Gyan Vigyan Samiti will organize two regional workshops in April. One of these will be held in Solan and the other in Mandi.

Pundir said that on April 7, a manifesto focused on the right to health prepared by the Public Health Campaign would be released and a public medical and counseling center would also be started in Shimla.

He said that given the general elections, the committee will submit a memorandum to all the political parties in April on the issues of drug addiction and the right to health.

On the occasion of World Book Day on 23 April, a memorandum will be given to the Election Commission demanding strict action against the use of drugs during elections.

On May 31st, World No Tobacco Day, memoranda will be given in all districts through the Deputy Commissioners to prevent drug abuse.

Pundir said that immediately after the elections, in June, a meeting will be held with the stakeholders and a broad platform will be formed by involving various organizations and conventions will be held from the state level to the panchayats.

The committee will organize an art procession for awareness in September and October which will be concluded on 23rd November, the foundation day of Himachal Gyan Vigyan Samiti, in the form of a cultural gathering.
