Nurpur’s state level Janmashtami Mahotsav started with grand Shobha Yatra

The two-day state level Shri Krishna Janmashtami Mahotsav of Nurpur of Kangra district was launched today on Monday with a grand procession. The procession was organized from Chaugan Maidan to Shri Brijraj Swami Temple, which was led by Deputy Commissioner Hemraj Bairwa. A large number of Krishna devotees participated in the procession in the Shobha Yatra.
During the procession, various temple committees were also taken out peeps. During this time, extra special drum teams of bandbaje made the procession four moons.
After this, the Deputy Commissioner participated in the Pooja Archana and pot breaking competition in the temple.
They also awarded the winners of the contest.
Former MLA Ajay Mahajan was present as special guest on this occasion.
SDM Gursimar Singh honored the chief guest and special guest by giving shawls, hat and souvenir.
Deputy Commissioner congratulated everyone on Janmashtami festival and said that Shri Brijraj Swami temple is a historical temple and it is a privilege for him to come and see the Lord at the state level Shri Krishna Janmashtami festival being celebrated here. He said that this festival is to Lord Shri Krishna Dedicated to who gave us the message of Geeta for the welfare of humanity. He urged all Krishna devotees to celebrate this holy occasion with pomp and promote the spirit of brotherhood and harmony in the society.
School children, artists from District Language Officer Office clapped with their magnificent presentations at the first cultural evening of state level Janmashtami fair. At the same time, Himachal police band “Harmony of Pines” performing on the main attraction of the first cultural evening and on the national platforms also tied a lot.

People queued for their turn since morning to visit the historic Shri Brijraj Swami temple. On the occasion of Janmashtami, devotees from the state and other states came to visit Thakur ji in large numbers made the whole atmosphere devotional with their bhajans and cheers. Swings at the fair and various stalls and attractions also pulled the crowd and everyone enthusiastically enjoyed these activities.
