No Water bill to rural consumers from this month

Himachal Pradesh Government today notify to charge no Water bill from the rural consumers with effect from 1st May , 2022 . notification issued by the Guv said here today. Mr Vikas Labroo, Secretary ( JSV ) of Himachal Pradesh government said here today that notification was issued by the Governor( , Himachal ) , in exercise of powers vested in him under section 5 of Himachal Pradesh Water Supply Act , 1986 ( Act No.8 of 1969 ) . Secretary said that the consumers in the rural areas of state shall be provided free domestic water supply w.e.f 01-05-2022 and no bill shall be charged from them after this date for the domestic water supply . It is worthwhile to mention that Jai Ram Thakur Government while addressing statehood function at Solan recently announced to provide free water to all rural consumers on the analogy of AAP Govt at Delhi which was also approved by the Council of Ministers last week.
