No time exemption to regularize part time workers: CM
The government will not give exemption of time limit for regularization of part time workers working in various departments in the state. This was stated by the Chief Minister in a written reply to a question asked by MLA Satpal Raizada during Question Hour in the Monsoon Session of the State Legislative Assembly today. The Chief Minister said that according to the orders of December 28, the government does not consider reducing the time limit for regularization of part-time workers.
According to the orders issued by the government on 28 December 2021, the time fixed for conversion of part time workers into daily wage earners has been reduced from 8 years to 7 years. He said that 3456 pending cases of jobs on compassionate grounds in departments, corporations and boards 2556 cases are pending in departments and 900 in corporations.

The government has given employment to 1218 people on compassionate grounds in departments, corporations and boards within the last three years. Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur said this in a written reply to the question of MLAs Vinay Kumar, Rakesh Singha, Pawan Kumar and Sanjay Awasthi. The Chief Minister said that the government has increased the income limit for providing jobs on compassionate grounds from Rs 1.5 lakh per family per annum to Rs 2.5 lakh per family per annum. It is the jurisdiction of the Central Government to reduce the rates of GST on apple cartons. Horticulture Minister Mahendra Singh Thakur said that it is for the central government to reduce the GST rates on apple cartons. He said that to give relief to the gardeners, the state government has decided to give a rebate of 6 per cent on GST. To avail GST on packaging material purchased from HPMC and open market, gardeners will have to submit GST payment bills of cartons and trays, cash memos and Aadhaar linked bank account records. Only then will they be given the benefit of this exemption. Not a single new connection was installed in water from every tap in Shimla. Under the central government’s ambitious Har Ghar Nal Se Jal scheme, not a single new connection has been installed in the capital Shimla. According to the report of Jal Shakti Department, not a single new connection has been installed in the capital Shimla from the year 2019 to 2022. Whereas during this period, maximum 27723 new connections of taps have been installed in Sulah assembly constituency. In the assembly constituency of Jal Shakti Minister Mahendra Singh Thakur, new connections of 13529 and 18 thousand 928 taps have been installed in the assembly constituency of the Chief Minister. Urban Development Minister Suresh Bhardwaj’s assembly constituency Shimla city could not establish a connection in three years, even when the capital Shimla, like every time, this year too, due to the summer season, there was a ruckus about water. In a written reply to the question of MLA Narendra Thakur, Jal Shakti Minister Mahendra Singh Thakur said that the state government has given 8 lakh 69 thousand 440 new connections in the state during the last three years.
