No more NPS deduction in Himachal: Chief Secretary
Himachal Pradesh Government today notify to not detect 12 pc from Employees’ salary (basic plus DA) with effect from April 1, 2023.
A notification issued by Chief Secretary Parbodh Saxena said that directly in view of the Cabinet Decision for implementation of the Old Pension Scheme under the CCS (Pension) Rules 1972, the State Government has decided that contributions of the State Government employees (i.e. employee’s and employer’s share) covered under National Pension System shall be stopped w.e.f. 1st April 2023.
The state council of ministers decided to restore the Old Pension Scheme in a cabinet meeting held on January 17 and notified the OPS in place of the New Pension System on March 15, 2023.
State Government stated that it would help 1.36 lakh state employees to get Pension after their retirement on the basis of OPS earlier Employees and State government contribute a share of 12 pc each from their salary to NPS.
